This page is designed to help you make the most of your membership and learn about SigmaMD, which is the EMR for the practice.  SigmaMD allows you to easily manage your membership, message me, access your child’s information, manage appointments, and stay connected.  This is all done easily through SigmaMD’s patient app.

Make the Most of Your SigmaMD App

From the Home Screen you can send secure CHAT messages as well as easily schedule, cancel, confirm, or reschedule appointments.

 

Helpful Tips:

• When you are enrolling your children in Barefoot Pediatrics, you must put yourself as the first patient.  There is a toggle in the bottom of the section “I am enrolling others, but not myself” that you will want to switch on to pink before proceeding.  This way you will be listed as the parent on your children’s chart.  Don’t worry, you will not be charged a membership for yourself. 

• Double-check you're in the right patient’s chart before scheduling or messaging.

                  → Tap the icon in the lower-right corner of the Homescreen to switch patients.

                  → Make sure you are in your child's chart, not your own

• Connect your child's SigmaMD account to their patient portal in other healthcare systems to streamline their onboarding

  • → Go to Homescreen → Connect to patient portals for secure access to your health data → Got It → Search for your external care health system (example Trinity, Lurie Children's, Indiana University Health) →Add

• Managing appointments at your fingertips.  Click Care-->Visits to see your upcoming and past appointments information.  Select the appointment to cancel or confirm and see details.

• PreVisit Forms for an efficient appointment.  Some visits will have form links, these are forms to complete prior to the visit to make sure I have as much information as possible to give your child the best care possible. These are in your selected Appointment Details under Notes and in the confirmation email. Please complete the forms to help me prepare for your child's visit.

• Please update Insurance Info.  While I don't bill insurance, X-ray orders, labs, and specialists do use it. On the app, go to Profile-->Health Insurance-->Add. This helps me process orders and referrals efficiently and avoids delays in your child's care.
